I got my first tattoo tonight, sort of as a late birthday present to myself. (Waay late, oops!) It’s from my favorite movie, Hedwig and the Angry Inch. This means so much to me, because I feel like it’s a symbol of Hedwig’s journey from feeling broken and lost and searching to healing and loving and accepting herself, despite her past mistakes and all the shit that has happened to her. This is a reminder to myself that I am whole and complete and perfect. Honestly, it sucked getting it, but I was so happy about it I cried on the way home. I love it so much.
